Kingpin Lock Sensor
This sensor is used to constantly monitor the kingpin lock to ensure that it is properly engaged at all times. The kingpin lock is a crucial component that prevents cargo trailers from separating during transit.
The sensor monitors the kingpin lock, making sure it is correctly engaged at all times. The sensor alerts the driver if there is a risk of it becoming disengaged during travel, thus jeopardizing the cargo with possible derailment as a consequence.
The kingpin lock sensor acts like an extra safety feature, as it indicates when the lock is active and engaged – a great improvement from manual inspection before departure.
If the sensor detects an incorrect or unlocked position, it sends a warning to the train’s control system and/or MyTrainApp, allowing the operator to take action before an accident or accidental separation of the wagons occurs. This system enhances safety and prevents damage to both cargo and infrastructure.
